Days after US President Donald Trump slammed Pakistan for having provided safe haven to Osama Bin Laden and The American ambassador to United Nations Nikki Haley said that the country continues to harbor terrorists and that Washington shouldn’t provide further aid.
An interview to The Atlantic, Nikki Haley said, “Giving them over a billion dollars, and they continue to harbor terrorists that turn around and kill our soldiers — that’s never okay. We shouldn’t give them a dollar until they correct it.”
Haley's response came on a question by The Atlantic's Uri Friedman asking, what does she feel about "What America’s role is?"
Talking about American Aid, Haley said, “We don’t need to be giving money to countries which say ‘Death to America’. We don’t need to be giving money to countries that go behind our back. We don’t need to be giving money to those that don’t want to be our partners, because there are a lot of countries which do want to be our partners, and we just need to be smart about it.”
US President and Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan also had a Twitter spat in which Khan said the US is making Islamabad a scapegoat due to its failures in Afghanistan.
